Week 5 MVPs

Steve Stapleton (Sabres) – Steve came back after a 2-week absence and had a solid game of D. Also netted a goal in the process AND picked up the Sabres Silks bill. Star of the week is a no brainer. Congrats Steve for a great game on and off the ice!

Ian Gollert (Penguins) - In a game where the Sabres were truly relentless, Ian stood out on defence to limit the damage and had a beautiful rush down the wing, finishing it off by firing the puck into the top corner for a beauty of a goal.

Bob McKay (Canucks) - The Canucks may not have won their game this week, but it in no way reflects Bob's performance in net. Both goaltenders were put to the test with incredible offense by both teams. Though the Canucks ended up on the wrong side of the "win" column this time, Bob demonstrated some solid goaltending and earned himself this week's MVP.

Tracey McCauley (Canadiens) - Tracey is brand new to skating and the sport of hockey this year, but she has shown incredible growth over the past 2 weeks and this week had the best game of her career! Tracey was all over the ice and was in the right spot all night long!

Grampa Scap (Leafs) - He had the wheels going all night long with a complete 200-foot game. Strong offence zone positioning and hard back checking the other way. Always the first back to cover the D points and capped his game off with a beauty top shelf snipe with 1.4 seconds left! Just no quit!

Geoff Leblanc (Oilers) - Geoff scored two goals this week helping the Oilers to a 4-3 win. The second being the game winner! Great game Geoff!

Steve DeTina (Wings) - Steve kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win by scoring our 2 goals. Way to go Steve!

Congrats to the dynamic duo of Heather and David! Playing a fantastic game together as well as sharing points in the last goal of our game make them the MVP players of the game!

Tyler Scoville (Bruins) – Tyler played an amazing game this past Saturday. He was able to set up numerous chances for the Bruins in the offensive zone to keep the team in the game!

Trevor Kwolek (Ducks) – Trevor stood on his head this week to keep the Ducks’ momentum strong. Way to go Trev! Congrats on the shutout! You the man!

Cindy Shantz (Sharks) - Despite having a game earlier in the morning AND having to ref, Cindy played some great defence as usual. Cindy makes the Sharks blueline a force to be reckoned with.

Mike Janes (Flyers) - In addition to his solid defensive play, Mike possessed unshakable positivity during a tough loss. His good attitude game in and game out is greatly appreciated! Great job Mike!
